Thermaltronics’ Curie Heat technology is an innovative soldering iron temperature control system that utilizes the physics of the Curie point. It works based on the property of ferromagnetic materials to change their magnetic properties when they reach a specific temperature, the Curie point. In this system, temperature control is automatic without complex sensors or electronics.
The soldering tip is made of ferromagnetic material with a precisely defined Curie point, which is the maximum desired temperature of the soldering iron. The soldering iron heating system uses induction technology, which generates a magnetic field to heat the soldering tip rapidly.
When the soldering tip reaches the Curie point, its magnetic properties are lost. As a result, the energy flow in the heating system automatically slows down, preventing the temperature from rising above the Curie point.
When the soldering tip cools below the Curie point, its magnetic properties are restored, and heating automatically continues. This dynamic process keeps the tip temperature constant and precise, reducing overheating and ensuring consistent quality in soldering.
